Calcite on Quartz

I found this piece in a Chinese dealers booth in Tucson 2016. I had been through most other Chinese dealers and saw nothing similar. There were 6 specimens, and all had damage except this one. A zoned greyish chalcedony hosts a series of calcites with an unusual feathering zoning. They are transparent enough to see matrix through several of them. The largest crystal is 3.8cm. Contact limited to the back.
