Quartz var Amethyst

I have not seen a La Garita specimen in a couple of decades. I suspect it is from the Crystal Hill Mine, but Ken has it labeled as La Garita Mine.  This piece was collected in 1980. It has very distinct smoky to amethystine phantoms running up the top third of the main crystal. VERY choice miniature. Ex Ken Roberts collection.
