Rhodochrosite on Quartz

At first glance this specimen would not say rhodochrosite, as the mounds of squat quartz crystals are coated with a sparkiling golden colored dusting. In actuality, Very small but perfect highly lustrous rhombs are scattered widely and obvious under a loupe. The rhombs are of the characteristic sparkling golden yellow color, not usually associated with rhodos! Classic specimen from this locality. Ex Dr W S Logan Collection
