In 1974 Ken and Eugene and Sharon Cisneros went on a dig in San Benito County. Sharon describes the find this way “The quantity of specimens we found was not very plentiful. It was all recovered from a small dig that we worked was less than about 10-12’across, and did not go very deep—-a near surface deposit.  The specimen you have on your web site is a good one!  Much of the material we found had only the usual small crystals found at other deposits in San Benito County locations.” The specimen Sharon was referring to is the thumbnail being offered. This 17cm plate has a very generous amount of crystals up to 1cm. It is likely the largest piece from the find. For a California or garnet collector this is a real find! Ex Ken Roberts collection.
