Quartz var Eisenkiesel

This is an oldie, with an old attached collection label. It is comprised of a knob of stubby prisms of quartz on which a generous amount of hematite enveloped. Some later growth of quartz “capped” existing crystals making for very glassy overgrowths. One crystal appears tipped, though it may be incompleted overgrowth. From the well known Freiberg silver mining district. Gotta love anything that comes from a mine called Himmelfahrt.
