The Apex Mine was first mined around the late 1800’s and later in the 1930s-50s. Top notch vanadinite specimens from the San Carlos started appearing about 4 years ago in splendid specimens with large euhedral crystals, many on calcite. This particular piece is a highly compounded set of crystals orienting first this way , then that in sub parallel groupings.
