While it was originally operated for copper, the Apex (also known as the Dixie or the Dixie/Apex) , later operations focused on extracting germanium and gallium from iron-rich minerals left behind. The mine has been defunct for over 40 years. This specimen exhibits small rosettes of azurite crystals. Colorful and affordable! Collected by Jim and Paula Wilson.
