Calcite

I am always looking for very good or unusual calcites and was thrilled to see Peter Megaw off this one up at the Just Minerals Event. This piece came from a single occurrence in 2006. This complex twin has glassy luster and a gorgeous pale lilac color. Orange under LW. An internal cleave in the center does not reach the surface nor travel to the back. It is not a complete crystal as there was contact on the back and bottom.
