Calcite on Fluorite

Two pale blue fluorites with pale yellow cores hosting several calcites. This appears to be a floater specimen and was partially dissoluted. The color is paler than the images portray. Two calcites are cleaved. Rather attractive.

Locality: Bethel Level, Anabelle Lee Mine, Cave in Rock District, Hardin County Illinois

Composition: Calcium Carbonate and Calcium Fluoride
