The mine was initially discovered prior to 1775.  The mine operated on a relatively small scale. The mining operations at this site involved both surface and underground workings, utilizing a single known vertical shaft. The maximum depth of the underground workings reached 27 meters (89 feet). This specimen was collected by Doug Hall in 1997. Ex George Loud
