According to the Compendium authored by Tom Moore, “simple tabular crystals of “columbite” were fairly abundant and reached up to 4cm (as of early 1960’s). This one is 4.5cm and was found in 1993 by Fred Parker. Ex George Loud.
Locality: Morefield Mine, Amelia County, Virginia
Composition: varying amounts of iron, manganese, niobium, and tantalum
