Perovskite

A textbook 1cm crystal from the type locality for perovskite. It, along with several partials, is set in a chloritic matrix. Superb crystals like this one are not common to the market and I was most surprised to see it in the Stephen Gerome collection. I researched similar specimens that have reached the market and found the few sold for between $400-$800. One is still on the market at $1500. This wont last long.

Locality: Achmatovsk Mine, Zlatoust, Ilmen Mtns., Chelyabinsk Oblast’,  Southern Urals Region, Russia
