Tetrahedrite and Quartz

Modern development of the mines began in earnest in 1949 for silver ore. This changed to the pursuit of lead-zinc ore around 1989. A large amount of specimens became available, but swiftly declined by the early 1990s. Small opaque quartz sprays highlight and minor pyrite in the matrix. More specimens were found in 2001. This choice miniature has two prominent crystals to 2cm.  Ex Mike Wortham.
