The Mineral Ridge Mine was a small scale operation for mining manganese ore. Mining began in 1834 in nearby areas. More information can be found at this link https://pubs.usgs.gov/bul/0936e/report.pdf . This specimen was found by Chris Tucker in 1977 and sold to George Loud in 2004.
