Calcite

The Elk Creek area is known for its gorgeous clear barites on calcite. This specimen is only calcite, but a very good example. The knob of matrix is coated with a druise of calcite and two thirds of the knob has lusterous crystals in sprays to 1.5cm. Collected in 1997.Ex Ken Roberts collection.

Locality: Elk Creek, Meade County, South Dakota.
