Iron mining in French Creek began as early as 1717, producing over a million tons of ore in its production history. Its primary ore was Magnetite. It has been closed for more than 60 years and is no longer accessible. This specimen has a central 1cm Chalcopyrite on crude octahedral Magnetites and is topped by a cluster of green Diopside. Great combination specimen. Ex George Loud
