Iron mining in French Creek began as early as 1717, producing over a million tons of ore in its production history. Its primary ore was Magnetite. It has been closed for more than 60 years and is no longer accessible. Pyrite specimens from this locale are rarely seen in todays market. This specimen hosts over a half dozen bright cubic crystals on a Magnetite matrix. Ex McDowell and Loud.
