Plumbogummite on Pyromorphite

These specimens surfaced about 15 years ago and were all the rage. Some were pseudomorphs and others, like this one, were a coating of Plumbogummite over fully realized Pyromorphites. The broken crystals help reveal the bright yellow Pyromorphites and adds wonderful color contrast.

Locality: Yangshuo Mine, Yangshuo County, Guilin Prefecture, Guangxi Zhuang A.R., China

Composition: lead aluminum phosphate over lead chlorophosphate
